Aims & Scope
Journal of Translational Medicine is an open access journal publishing articles focusing on information derived from human experimentation so as to optimise the communication between basic and clinical science. The journal covers all areas of translational medicine but also has several special sections.
Who are we looking for?
We are interested in experienced individuals who are committed to open access, data sharing, and innovation in scientific publishing, and are willing to spend around two to three hours per week handling journal submissions.
Suitable candidates should:
- have a minimum of ten (10) research papers published in reputable, English language, peer-reviewed journals;
- be listed as first author, last author, or corresponding author during the last five years;
- have demonstrable expertise that fits within the scope and needs of the section being applied for;
- have experience as a Reviewer.
Role and Responsibilities
Associate Editors for Journal of Translational Medicine will:
- support the journal's ethos, scope, editorial standards and policies, and be committed to represent JTM within the scientific community;
- provide a professional and supportive service to authors and ensure that manuscripts fulfill the requirements of the journal and are handled efficiently and appropriately through peer-review;
- assess manuscripts for their suitability for peer review, selecting suitable reviewers who meet the journal's requirements, and support the Section Editor by providing decision recommendations on the basis of the peer reviewers' reports and their own assessment while adhering to the journal’s editorial policies.
An Associate Editor for Journal of Translational Medicine should be engaged and willing to handle a minimum of five new manuscripts per month within their field of expertise. Our Associate Editors will receive training, and our in-house Editorial Office will also provide administrative support.
