Journal of Precision Health: Editor-in-Chief

We are pleased to announce the upcoming launch of Journal of Precision Health, which will be a companion title to Journal of Translational Medicine

Journal of Precision Health (JPH) is an open-access journal dedicated to exploring the intersection of translational and precision medicine by disseminating high-quality research and innovative insights. JPH is within the Journal of Translational Medicine family.

The journal focuses on biomarker discovery, clinical genomics, targeted therapies, pharmacogenomics, diagnostic innovations, ethical considerations, and computational approaches in precision medicine. Journal of Precision Health aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration across personalized medicine and facilitate the translation of research into improved patient care.

Editor-in-Chief

BioMed Central is seeking to appoint an Editor-in-Chief to lead the journal. The Editor-in-Chief will have full editorial responsibility for the content published in Journal of Precision Health and for ensuring that the ethos, ethical standards, policies, and scope of the Journal are maintained. They will also be responsible for strategic guidance and overseeing the commissioning of non-research content.

The ideal candidates will be:

  • Researchers with broad experience related to the aims and scope of the journal, and able to demonstrate their impact in the field with an extensive publication history.
  • Experienced as journal Editors, with strong critical analysis and appraisal skills, and a good understanding of peer review and publication ethics.
  • Keen supporters of open access publishing.
  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership.
  • Excellent strategic planners with the ability to develop a clear vision for Journal of Precision Health.
  • Interested in building strong community relationships with experts at all levels.
  • Keen to establish, innovate, and continuously develop Journal of Precision Health
  • Engaged with technology and willing to use the Journal’s online submission and peer review tools. 
  • Able to dedicate time on a regular basis to establish the newly launched journal. 
  • Senior and well-recognized researcher with a broad network.


Editorial Office

Journal of Precision Health will be supported by an Editorial Office run by the Publisher for administrative services and will be further supported by a committed team of Associate Editors. The Editor-in-Chief will be closely supported by the Publishing Editor who will be assisting with the launch of the journal. The position offers an honorarium. Whilst the time commitment is flexible, we anticipate the post-holder would also have a full-time academic position.

Term of Appointment

The term of office will be for 5 years, with a potential option for renewal by mutual consent.
