During the cell adherence to ECM, integrin β1 activity undergoes conformational changes that induce cellular signaling including “inside-out” signal in which signals from inside the cell activate the integrin for binding to the extracellular ligands and “outside-in” signal in which extracellular ligand interaction activates integrin receptor by separating the integrin cytoplasmic domain triggering the intracellular signaling molecules
