WT XKR8 was expressed at the surface of HEK 293T cell membranes (white arrow; A). Homozygous (B) and heterozygous (C) variants resulted in a lack of morphological XKR8 protein at the cell membrane surface, and large plaques were observed around nuclei (white arrows; B and C).
