Supernatants of gB-specific CAR T cells inhibit HCMV replication in HFF. T cells were transfected with CAR-mRNA and 1 day later were co-cultured for 4 h with uninfected HFF or HFF 4 days after infection (AD169; MOI 5). The supernatants of these co-cultures (analysis shown in Fig. 1c) were added to fresh HFF concomitantly with the HCMV (AD169; MOI 0.3). 1 or 4 days later the HFF were trypsinized and harvested for flow cytometric determination of the fraction of GFPpos HFF (n = 4; two-tailed Student’s t test)
