  1. Data are expressed as mean ± standard deviation or median, according to variable distribution. In particular, SBP, DBP, Insulin, HoMA-IR, IL-6 and TNFα were expressed as median with range. Differences in variables between groups were analyzed using the unpaired Student t test or Mann-Whitney U test, when appropriate.
  2. BMI body mass index, WC waist circumference, SBP systolic blood pressure, DBP diastolic blood pressure, FPG fasting plasma glucose, HoMA-IR homeostasis model of assessment-insulin resistance, HDL high-density lipoprotein, LDL low-density lipoprotein, TG triglycerides, BPA bisphenol-A, IL-6 interleukin-6, MCP-1 monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, TNFα tumor necrosis factor-alpha.
