Data show percentage of changes in the area under the curve (AUC) in relation to the Sham group (100%) and was derived from the difference in the area under the dose–response curve to acetylcholine (Figures 3, 4, 5 and 6) before and after the blockade of the molecular pathways; endothelial nitric oxide (NO) synthase (with L-NAME), cyclooxygenases (Cox)/prostanoids such as prostacyclin (PGI2) and other eicosanoids (with indomethacin), reactive oxygen species (ROS)/NADPH oxidase (with apocynin) and endothelial-derived hyperpolarizing factor (EDHF) (residual response after double blockade with L-NAME and indomethacin).
