Intra-femoral transplantation of PCSD1 (Prostate Cancer San Diego 1) cells generated xenograft tumors in mice. Tumor cells isolated directly from a patient-derived femoral bone metastasis were transplanted intra-femorally into Rag2-/-;γc-/- male mice. Tumor growth was observed in the tumor-injected (right) leg of intra-femorally transplanted mice but not in the un-injected, contra-lateral (left) leg as shown in three representative mice 10 weeks post-transplantation.
