Inhibition of PAR-2 expression suppresses H. pylori -induced activation of MAPK in gastric epithelial cells. AGS cells were transfected with PAR-2 AS ODN or S ODN for 24 hours and cultured in the absence or the presence of H. pylori at a bacterium/cells ratio of 300:1 for 30 minutes. The levels of phospho-specific and total forms of MAPK (p38, ERK1/2, JNK1/2) were determined by Western blotting using specific antibodies for the indicated proteins.
