Slides are first scanned under low magnification and regions of densest CD8i T-cell infiltrates are identified. CD8i T-cells infiltrates are then quantified in five HPF of highest density (HPF area 0.1886 mm2). The probability of lymph node metastasis can be determined based on a nomogram of CD8i counts. The fewer T-cells in the biopsy, the greater the risk of nodal metastasis.Back to article page
