Histology and immunohistochemistry of tumor sections confirm killing of CF33-Fluc injected and non-injected, distant tumors. PBS control, CF33-Fluc-injected and non-injected tumors were harvested at days 3 and 27 and tumor sections were subjected to H&E or IHC staining. a Three days following treatment, control tumors show clustered blue nuclei via fluorescent blue §DAPI staining and no evidence of viral infection via fluorescent green anti-viral staining. H&E staining of the injected tumor shows early signs of tumor necrosis and confirms the presence of virus with fluorescent green staining. b By day 27, nearly complete necrosis (loss of DAPI staining) is observed in the injected tumor. Green fluorescence confirms the dissemination of CF33-Fluc from the injected to non-injected distant tumors. (H&E, hematoxylin and eosin. IHC, immunohistochemistry. §DAPI, 4′6-diamidino-2-phenylindole)
