HIF-1α binds to the BNIP3 promoter region. a A ChIP assay was used to identify the possible binding sites for HIF-1α in the bnip3 promoter region. The prepared chromatin was immunoprecipitated with antibodies against HIF-1α and IgG. RT-PCR was used to identify possible binding sites with specific primers. b A luciferase construct containing the HIF-1α binding site in the BNIP3 promoter region was designed. c The relative luciferase activities of luciferase reporters containing wild-type (WT) or mutant transcripts were detected 48 h after cotransfection with HIF-1α.
