Imatinib decreases the number of PDGFRβ positive cells and increases tumor cell apoptosis. Tumor sections from mice treated for 4 days with vehicle (white bars, n = 7) or 100 mg/kg imatinib (grey bars n = 7) were stained with antibodies against PDGFRβ (a), as well as cleaved caspase-3 (b) and Ki-67 (c) to monitor apoptosis and proliferation. Data are presented as mean ± SEM. Statistically significant differences (Student’s t-test; p < 0.05) compared to vehicle treatment are indicated asterisk
