  1. Skeletons of viable fetuses were double-stained with Alcian blue and Alizarin red and assessed for malformations, variations and ossification delays. The incidences are reported in percentages with the values in parentheses reflecting the number of litters affected
  2. aLitters were all resorbed or dead. Therefore no visceral or skeletal examinations were done on them (only external examination because the numbers of pups was so low)
