Figure 6From: Favorable in vitro effects of combined IL-12 and IL-18 treatment on NK cell cytotoxicity and CD25 receptor expression in metastatic melanoma patientsThe effect of cytokines on CD25 receptor expression on NK cell subsets. a) The percentage and mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of CD25 receptor increase significantly (*p < 0.05, Wilcoxon signed rank test) on CD3−CD56+NK cells and their CD3−CD56dim+ and CD3−CD56bright+ subsets in HC and MM patients after 18 h in vitro treatment with IL-12 and IL-18 in combination. Results are obtained by Flow cytometry; b) HC and MM patients in M1a + M1b group have significantly (*p < 0.05, Mann–Whitney exact test) higher increase in CD25 receptor expression on NK cells after in vitro treatment with combination of IL-12 and IL-18 compared to the increase in M1c group. Results are expressed in indexes calculated as the value of CD25 receptor expression after combined IL-12 and IL-18 treatment of each HC or MM patient devides with the value of this receptor expression after treatment in medium alone.Back to article page
