Survival was investigated as a function of (a) light dose (AlPcS2 = 1 μM, 2 h), (b) AlPcS2 concentrations in the incubating medium and (c) different intracellular contents of AlPcS2. The intracellular content of AlPcS2 at 0.25 and 0.5 μM was calculated from Figure 1b. Irradiation was performed with red light at a total dose of 450 J/cm2 after 2 h of post-irradiation incubation in HBSS (n = 3).
