(A) HAC/PBGD was significantly higher in blood samples (healthy controls and carcinoma patients) compared to tissue samples (unaffected colon and carcinoma tissue, ** p < 0.0001). (B) HAC/PBGD was higher in blood samples of healthy controls than in samples of carcinoma patients (* p = 0.0235, unpaired). No difference in HAC/PBGD was detected comparing tissue samples of unaffected colon with samples of carcinoma tissue (p = 0.1147, paired).
