HCMV IE-1 3–12 SSAKRKMDPD specific cytotoxicity. PBMCs from donors expressing HLA-A*2402 (Donor 19) were sensitized in vitro for 2 weeks with IE-13–11SSAKRKMDP, IE-13–12SSAKRKMDPD and IE-18–16 KMDPDNPDE and tested for cytotoxicity using a 51Cr release assay against HLA-matched HCMV infected fibroblasts. The IE-13–12SSAKRKMDPD sensitized CTLs lysed greater quantities of HCMV-infected fibroblasts than the negative controls. HCMV A33 (pp65341–350) peptide and IL-2 only stimulated PBMCs (IL-2) were used as negative controls.
