Choroid plexus ependymal cells express CD133. This panel shows images of the choroid plexus. Figure (A) displays glucose transporter glut-1 staining in red in the choroid plexus ependymal cells, forming lines (arrows) that depict the anatomical substrate of the blood-CSF barrier. Moreover, choroid plexus ependymal cells express the putative neural stem cell marker CD133, as revealed in green by fluorescence (arrows in (B)) and in brown by chromogenic (arrows in (D)) immunohistochemistry.
