Fluorescence histograms of the isotype control (gray) and of the EpCAM antibody (red). (B) The mean percent detection, capture and purity of 5, 13, and 25 tumor cells isolated following spiking into 4 mL of normal blood (n = 3). The number of detected tumor cells was calculated using Flowjo software. The number of captured tumor cells was counted as the number of cells found in the collection reservoir. Purity was calculated as the number of captured tumor cells divided by the number of captured tumor cells plus white blood cells counted in the collection reservoir.
