Figure 3From: HLA-dependent tumour development: a role for tumour associate macrophages?Regulation of MHC class II expression on TAMs. The tumour cells can secrete DcR3 that is shown to be a negative regulator of MHC class II expression and a promoter of M2-like macrophage polarization (TAM promotion). BAT3 is a critical intracellular factor for maintain MHC class expression on normal macrophages during the cell-mediated immune response. However TAMs are able to release it as a soluble immune-suppressive factor which inhibits NK cell-dependentcytokine secretion.Back to article page
