The power and sample size estimates are for a single nucleotide polymorphism with minor allele frequency of 0.2 that influences the BP response signal with an effect size detected with 80% power in a sample of N = 300 at a genome-wide significance level of 5 × 10-8(see Methods). The estimates assume that the BP response signal can be measured without error.
